FAUNAGUA was created in 2004, as a Non-Governmental Organization, of a non-profit social nature and with its own autonomy. It obtained its legal personality No. 290/04 (department of Cochabamba) the same year, and since then it has executed a series of research projects aimed at the sustainable development and management of hydrobiological resources and wetlands in Bolivia. Since 2015, it has expanded its activities and has carried out studies and projects on the sustainable use of natural resources, integrated water management within a basin spatial environment, management of protected areas, indigenous and peasant territories, gender and public advocacy.
