The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a global environmental organization dedicated to conserving the lands and waters on which life depends. Science oriented, we create innovative, practical solutions to our world's most pressing challenges so that nature and people can thrive together. We are tackling climate change, conserving lands, waters and oceans on an unprecedented scale, providing food and water sustainably, and helping to make cities more sustainable. We work in 76 countries and territories using a collaborative approach that engages local communities, governments, the private sector and other partners.

TNC protects relevant ecosystems in Latin America, one of which is the Amazon Basin, with a presence in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil. We envision to maintain healthy, connected, resilient Amazon freshwater ecosystems by implementing nature-based solutions that sustain the livelihoods of local communities, their culture, and traditions. Some of the watersheds iwe are working are: Caquetá, Napo, Marañon, Ucayali, Tapajos, Araguaia; promoting the creation of long-term protection schemes. For more information, visit TNC at nature.org or follow @TNCLatinoamerica on Twitter.
