Fronteiras Institute

The Fronteiras Institute works to build a cooperation network with the aim of creating sustainable and innovative shared solutions to local social and environmental problems, with a focus on expanding the autonomy of indigenous peoples and traditional communities in the Vale do Juruá region, state of Acre. We operate in a network with indigenous communities, universities and other public and private institutions, seeking to establish synergies for projects aimed at sustainable development from a socio-economic and environmental point of view. In the search for solutions to the complex problems of our borders, we promote the creation of training within cooperation networks, the promotion of new social technologies to increase human and social capital, socio-environmental and gender equity and the sustainable use of natural resources. Our headquarters are located in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, in the Juruá river valley, in the municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul, in Acre. Our works cover the states of Acre and Amazonas.
