SDZ – San Diego Zoo Global Peru

San Diego Zoo Global - Peru (SDZG-Peru) is a Peruvian non-profit organization whose main purpose is the promotion and development of programs and projects for the protection and conservation of the environment. It focuses, in a special way, on promoting and conducting research on issues related to the environment and conservation sciences. SDZG-Peru shares the principles, mission and vision of San Diego Zoo Global in its worldwide efforts to “lead the fight against the extinction of species”. Since the beginning of our activities in Peru, we have been linked to the technical support of the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (SERNANP) in the operations of the Cocha Cashu Biological Station, Manu National Park. From this important center of knowledge in tropical ecology, we continue to facilitate the frontier research that has characterized the station since 1969. At the same time, we are promoting the generation of scientific capacities at the national level and the formation of a citizenship based on respect for nature and the multicultural reality of Peru.
